ANZAC DAY COMMEMORATIONS - MoGC ANZAC SERVICE
We gathered to commemorate ANZAC Day, a day when Australians and New Zealanders give thanks for their freedom and peace. We remember and honour those who fought to protect our beautiful lands. On ANZAC Day, we remember all who gave their lives for our freedom and peace. It is also an important day for us to stop and pray for peace – peace in our world, peace among people in our own country, peace in families, and peace in our own hearts.
The Ode, was read by Lieutenant Commander Thomas Rue. The Ode is from a poem written by Laurence Binyon entitled ‘For the Fallen”. We usually only say the last stanza of the poem. In this we call to mind those who never come back, those who never grow old.
